MRPC Range Rules
Range Safety Rules
1 The 'Range in Use' sign at the entrance must be opened before using the range.
2 The red warning flag is to be raised to show the range is active.
3 All members and their guests are required to ‘sign in’ and have their membership card in plain view.
4 Vehicles are to be left in the parking area.
5 The Red Flag at the Range in use must also be raised to indicate operation.
6 Unloaded Firearms are to be moved from vehicles encased OR unloaded, action open, Muzzle Up with a chamber flag.
7 At NO TIME can a firearm be pointed at another Human Being.
8 Absolutely no shooting without a Range Officer Present.
9 Range commands (below) by Range officers are to be obeyed
-Range is going ‘Hot’
-Eyes and Ears on (Hearing & Eye Protection)
-On your own time ‘Fire’
-Cease Fire, Unload and Show Clear for Inspection
-Range is now ‘Cold’
10 Firearms can only be placed upon the firing line when the range is HOT or ACTIVE.
11 All targets must be placed on target holders, Not on the range floor.
12 Explosive Targets, tracers, armour piercing, and explosive bullet types are prohibited.
13 Firearms can only be loaded upon the instruction of a range officer on a HOT or ACTIVE Range.
14 Hot/ Cold or Active/Nonactive Protocols will be followed as outlined below.
15 No one forward of the firing line on a Hot or Active Range.
16 Alcohol and drug use is prohibited during range operation.
17 In case of emergency call 911, Range address 760 Upper Leitches Creek Road, Leitches Creek.
18 Mandatory Range Training Program required for all members, testing with 80% minimum grade.
19 This facility is to be used at your own risk.
20 Holstered Handguns are to be unloaded as per Metro R & P Policy.
21 Only unloaded Firearms in the Safe Areas.
22 Absolutely NO ammunition allowed in the safe area.
23 Eye and Ear protection is mandatory on a Hot/Active Range.
24 Anyone that witnesses an unsafe situation is to immediately call a ‘Cease-Fire’.
25 First Aid kits and incident reports located on each range.
